Yashvardhan Ahuja is an Indian actor and the son of Bollywood star Govinda and Sunita Ahuja. ANI reported his 28th birthday on 1 March 2025, which places his birth on 1 March 1997 and makes him 29 as of October 2026. His first film as a lead, Hero Ki Horrorine, is due in cinemas on 7 January 2027, ETV Bharat reported on 22 August 2026.
The horror comedy is directed by Sajid Khan and also stars Nitanshi Goel, who is known for Laapataa Ladies, along with his mother, Sunita Ahuja, who plays his on-screen mother. Reports spell his name in several ways, and IBTimes India’s release-date story used Yashvardan. His mother calls him Yash.
Yashvardhan Ahuja at a glance
Most of what is published about the actor comes from reports on his debut and from interviews given by his parents. The table lists each detail with the outlet that reported it, and details no national outlet has reported are left out.

The age line rests on one dated report. ANI described the 1 March 2025 birthday as his 28th, and 1 March 1997 to 1 October 2026 is 29 years and seven months. Several online profiles give the same date without naming a source, so they add nothing independent to the ANI line.
Early life, family and training
Yashvardhan is the younger of Govinda and Sunita Ahuja’s two children. His sister Tina was born in 1988 and he followed in 1997, The Tribune reported on 25 February 2025. His parents married in March 1987, and the marriage and the public dispute that followed are set out in the profile of Sunita Ahuja.
BollywoodShaadis reported on 19 February 2025 that his grandfather, Arun Kumar Ahuja, was a film producer and his grandmother, Nirmala Devi, a singer and actress. He completed a diploma in filmmaking and acting at the Met Film School in London, ETV Bharat reported on 22 August 2026.
After London he learned the craft under producer Sajid Nadiadwala. He assisted on Kick 2, Dishoom and Tadap, according to the same ETV Bharat report. Acting came last, and nothing in the reports reviewed describes earlier screen roles.
How the debut came together
Yashvardhan’s first film changed more than once before the title and date were fixed, and reports from 2025 and 2026 name different projects, so the sequence below keeps each one with its date.
- 25 May 2025. The Free Press Journal reported, citing a Peeping Moon story, that he was set to debut in a Hindi remake of the 2023 Telugu film Baby, directed by Sai Rajesh with Babil Khan also in the cast. The report said the remake was on hold after Babil Khan walked out following a fallout with the director.
- 23 January 2026. Bollywood Hungama reported on 25 January that Sajid Khan’s horror film Hundred began shooting at Mumbai’s Film City on Friday 23 January. The film launches Yashvardhan, with Nitanshi Goel as the female lead. Amar Butala and Balaji Telefilms, run by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor, are the producers.
- 10 February 2026. Pinkvilla still described a Sai Rajesh love story as his expected debut. Gulf News, covering the same news cycle, said Sajid Khan was set to launch him. The two reports pointed to different films weeks after the Hundred shoot began.
- 21 and 22 August 2026. Times Now and ETV Bharat named the film Hero Ki Horrorine and gave 7 January 2027 as its release date. India.com added that it is a Jai Ho Media Ventures production presented by Balaji Telefilms.
The director, lead actress and producers named in January match those named in August, which points to one film carrying two titles. None of the reports reviewed explains the change, and the Baby remake has not been reported as revived.
Hero Ki Horrorine: cast, director and release date
Four outlets published the same cast and crew in August 2026: Times Now, India.com, ABP Live and ETV Bharat. India.com described the film as a mix of horror, romance and comedy.

Sunita has spoken about the shared screen time. Speaking to ANI, as quoted by ABP Live on 22 August 2026, she said, “In Yash’s film, I am playing the role of his mother. Perhaps, this will be the first time in the industry that a mother and son are being launched together.” Times Now noted that she had earlier told ANI the film would release in September. The date now stands at 7 January 2027.
ETV Bharat reported that the film should arrive before Govinda’s own comeback film, Roopa, which he announced in July 2026 after a seven-year gap.
What his parents have said about his career
In February 2026 his parents gave different accounts of how he reached the screen. Sunita told Miss Malini that Yash is a “self-made boy” who gave 90 auditions and took no help from his father, Pinkvilla reported on 10 February 2026. Govinda told ANI he had asked Sajid Nadiadwala to guide his son.
Pinkvilla added that Nadiadwala offered Yash his cabin and helped him learn filmmaking. Gulf News, reporting the same exchange, quoted Govinda as saying, “Yash will become a better actor than me.” Both versions are the parents’ own words. Yashvardhan was not quoted in either report.
On 19 August 2026 he went with his mother to the Bandra family court, where she withdrew her divorce petition, ETV Bharat reported. Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, said that none of the family, naming Yashvardhan and Tina, had wished for the divorce. The reports reviewed carry no statement from Yashvardhan on the dispute. Reports on the rumours around actress Komal Rani Swarnkar are collected on her own page.
