Who is Karan Patel’s wife?
Ankita Bhargava is a television and film actress known for Kasautii Zindagii Kay, according to BollywoodShaadis, and she married Karan Patel in 2015. The Indian Express noted that she also appeared in Sonakshi Sinha’s film Akira.
In recent posts she uses the spelling Ankiita, which Moneycontrol used when it reported on her message for him in January 2026.
Her birthday falls on 29 August. In 2018 she wrote that the two of them “have stood tall against smallest and biggest of all hardships” because they are “each other’s backbone”, the Times of India reported.
The 2015 wedding
Karan and Ankita married on 3 May 2015, the Times of India reported, and later shared a photo of Karan waiting for his bride at the mandap. Ankita wrote that the couple “giggled away to Glory during pheras”. Busy work schedules meant they skipped a honeymoon in 2015 and travelled to London the following year.

The match came together quickly. BollywoodShaadis described it as a match arranged by the two families, and Dainik Jagran also called it an arranged marriage, while a 2018 Times of India piece described it as love-cum-arranged. Before the engagement, Karan had been in a long relationship with actress Kamya Punjabi, and he got engaged to Ankita soon after that breakup, ABP Live reported.
Their daughter
In May 2018 Karan announced that the couple were expecting their first child with a film-style poster that read “Yeh Diwali Hogi Babywali”, the Indian Express reported. That pregnancy ended in a miscarriage later in 2018. When Ankita wrote about it two years later, she said she and Karan “cried every night before sleeping”, and that her husband was her biggest strength through that time, according to the Hindustan Times.
Their daughter was born in 2019. The family has shared holiday and birthday moments with her on social media over the years, including a 2021 dance video and a Maldives trip to welcome that year.
The 2026 separation rumours and Ankita’s reply
In April 2026, posts claiming that the couple’s 11-year marriage was in trouble spread widely on social media. Ankita addressed them in an interview with Telly Masala. “We are both very happy together, healthy and living our lives peacefully,” she said in Hindi, adding that she had learned to switch off from trolling, Dainik Jagran reported. She described the people behind the claims as “keyboard warriors”.
It was not the first time. On Shaardul Pandit’s podcast in 2024, nine years into the marriage, Ankita said she laughed when she heard that she was getting divorced without knowing about it herself. “If we do not share romantic photos on social media, it does not mean we are separating,” she said, in ABP Live’s Hindi report. Jagran wrote that the rumours grew out of the couple’s low social media presence, and that Ankita believed someone close to them had fed the claims to the media.
Ankita backing Karan on The 50 and Rise and Fall 2
Karan confirmed in January 2026 that he would join Farah Khan’s reality show The 50, which premiered on 1 February on Colors TV and JioHotstar, India Today and Aaj Tak reported. He told IANS the move was a reinvention after nearly 26 years in television. Ankita congratulated him on social media with a line Moneycontrol put in its headline: “He didn’t age; he arrived.”
His run on The 50 was short. The Hindustan Times reported, citing a source close to the channel, that he walked out within a week after objecting to a physical fight between two contestants and saying it was “affecting my mental peace”. The same source said it was not confirmed whether he left or was shown the door.
Later in the year he entered Rise and Fall 2. Reports in early October said he had left the show on medical grounds, at about the same time as fellow contestant Tej Pratap Yadav, mid-day reported. By 16 October he was back in the game, Moneycontrol reported, and in November Bigg Boss 16 contestant Archana Gautam publicly agreed with his remarks about Priyanka Chahar Choudhary’s friendships on the show.

Viewers who were unsure of him in the opening week came round as the season went on. On a 42-upvote appreciation post in the show’s subreddit, one fan wrote:
“Karan is a genuine guy who says things to your face, supports when needed, and knows when not to support, like a mature person. As the show progresses, he seems deserving to be in the top 5.”

His television friends have also stayed close to the couple. Among those who left messages on Ankita’s January post was Anita Hassanandani, his Yeh Hai Mohabbatein co-star, according to Moneycontrol.
Karan Patel’s age and career
Karan turned 32 on 23 November 2015, the Indian Express reported, which makes him 42 now and 43 on 23 November 2026. The site’s age calculator works out the exact figure from that date.
He made his debut in 2000 as Vigyat in Ekta Kapoor’s Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, then worked in Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kasturi, Kasamh Se, Kkavyanjali and Kesar before Yeh Hai Mohabbatein made him a major star, IANS reported in January 2026. His earlier reality shows include Survivor India, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6 and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 10.
