Career

She started her acting career with an Indian Bengali romantic drama film named “Fidaa”. In this debut movie, she was casted along side Yash Dasgupta in the lead role. The film was directed by Pathikrit Basu and produced by Shrikant Mohta. The music of the film was composed by Arindam Chatterjee & Sayan Seth. The movie was released under Shree Venkatesh Films banner on July 13th, 2018.

In the movie, Sanjana was casted as Khushi Mukherjee and Yash Dasgupta as Ishaan Chatterjee. They were supported by Anindya Chatterjee as Rahul Singha Roy – Ishaan’s Friend; Ashish Vidyarthi as Pad Gopal; Matt Townsend as Police Officer; & Joey Debroy as Suresh. Sanjana’s role in the film was highly appreciated and applauded by the audiences and because of that, she gained a lot of popularity.

Originally the film was slated to be released on the occasion of Eid; ie on June 15th, 2018 but was postponed to avoid major box-office clash with some other films. Prior to that, the official poster of the film was released on March 26th, 2018. In the first look at the poster of the film, Sanjana’s face was not visible properly which created a lot of confusion and queries about the female character in the minds of the critics and the audiences. It is also said that this confusion was also one of the main reasons which resulted into the film “Fidaa’s” popularity.

The confusion and the queries of the audiences and the critics were finally rested and settled after the official launch of the films trailer on June 7th, 2018. The trailer confirmed that the lead actress was Sanjana Banerjee, making her acting debut along side Yash Dasgupta; both in the lead roles.

Later she was seen in a SVF Music Video by Anupam Roy’s “Durga Puja” album called “Mithye Kotha”. In the song, Sanjana was seen along with John Bhattacharya, with a twist in the video. The song had a tag line “Indulge in the song with a festive feel and celebrate love in music and style!”.

The song named “Mithye Kotha” was composed by Anupam Roy (ie. the Lyrics, Vocals & Music). The programmer and arranger of the song was done by Sourav Roy. The Guitar in the song was played by Rishabh Ray. The Recording of the song was done by Prabar at Sonic Solution, along with Shomi Chatterji who conducted the Mixing and Mastering part of the song.
