She used the surname ‘Bose’ as her Ex-husband’s surname, her earlier name was Puja Banerjee.
When she was just 15 years old, Puja Bose (aka Puja Banerjee) played the role of Baban in the Hindi film named “Escape from Taliban”. In 2010, in a conversation with one of the media house, Puja stated that she did the movie “Escape from Taliban” when she was 15 years old. She narrated,
“It was my debut Hindi film at the age of 15. It starred Manisha Koirala. The director of the film was my father’s friend. Hence, he approached me with a role. It was an autobiography of Sushmita Banerjee played by Manisha. It was more like a documentary film”.

Later on November 15th, 2021 they got married as per the Hindu rituals and ceremonies. She narrated,
“We had already done a court marriage, one-and-half month back. We hadn’t spoken about it to the world. Today, we were supposed to do our wedding rituals but had to call them off due to the lockdown. However, we will consider today (April 15) as our wedding. Aaj bataya na duniya ko!”. The couple have a son named “Krishiv”.

The movie was directed by Puja’s fathers friend Ujjal Chattopadhyaya and the script of the film was taken from a book written by Sushmita Banerjee – A Kabuliwala’s Bengali Wife.
