What is the show about?
Lo Chudail Chali Sasural follows Urvashi, a witch who is the opposite of the scary chudail of folklore. She chooses love over her magical world and sets out to live like an ordinary person with Aarav Patel and his affectionate family, Mayapuri reported in October 2026.
Daily life in the human world does not come easily to her. Her habit of using magic to help people keeps creating unexpected, comic tangles at home, Suryoday Bharat wrote in its October report on the show.
It is a family comedy with some fantasy, not a horror show. Rakhi Vijan told Dainik Jagran in July 2026 that the series is “not fully horror” but comedy with a little horror mixed in, according to a translation of her Hindi remarks.
Hiba Nawab as Urvashi
The role brings Hiba Nawab back to comedy and to Sony SAB. She had been away from television for nearly a year after the drama Jhanak, The Times of India reported in August 2026.
She expects comparisons with the original. “Comparisons are inevitable, but this isn’t a copy-paste adaptation. It’s inspired by the original while telling its own story,” she told the paper, adding that Urvashi is not “the typical scary witch people are used to seeing, with long nails, messy hair and a frightening appearance. She’s a lovable chudail.”
She said she had told her Jhanak co-actors that she wanted her next project to be a comedy, and feels she “manifested it” because the family dramas she was discussing did not work out. After years of intense drama, she worried she had forgotten how to do comedy, but “once I started shooting, it all came back naturally.”
In a statement carried by Mayapuri, she said Urvashi always listens to her heart and puts love and family above everything, and that returning to the Sony SAB family felt special.
Adhik Mehta as Aarav Patel
Adhik Mehta plays Aarav Patel, the man whose ordinary life is turned upside down when magic arrives with his wife. IWMBuzz reported him as the lead opposite Hiba Nawab in early October.
Before the premiere, the two shot a music video for the show. Adhik told Zoom TV that the experience was unusual because the song was made for their show, not borrowed from an existing track. He joked that Hiba has the energy of a “chudail”. She was ready to rehearse again and again, he said, and never seemed to tire, while Hiba remembered the pair laughing so much during rehearsals that they kept forgetting their steps.
Rakhi Vijan and the supporting cast
Rakhi Vijan, known for Hum Paanch and Dekh Bhai Dekh, plays Kamini. She told Dainik Jagran that her character is the president of the “CBI”, which in the show stands for Chudail Blood of India. Just Showbiz described Kamini as a powerful witch who disapproves of Urvashi’s decision to marry a human.
She also said comedy comes far more easily to her than crying on screen, and credited producer Vipul D. Shah with an almost unbroken run of hit shows.
IWMBuzz reported Kanchan Gupta and Ashish Bhatt in vital roles, and later that Aqsa Varghese, seen in Star Plus’s Udne Ki Aasha, had joined the main cast. The site said neither the actress nor the channel responded before it published, so her role remains unconfirmed.
