Introduction

“Thandel” is the story of this Telugu-language Action Romantic Thriller Drama film revolves around a fishermen from Srikakulam who finds themselves accidentally drifting into Pakistani waters during a routine fishing trip. The films beautifully shows and explores their courage, patriotism, love & emotions which will bind the audiences in the theatres.

The script of this film “Thandel” is written and directed by Chandoo Mondeti. Famous Telugu actors Naga Chaitanya & Sai Pallavi are seen in their respective lead main roles in this film. “Thandel” is considered as one of the most expensive project in Naga Chaitanya’s career with the budget around 75 crores approximately. The dance sequence on Lord Siva, which had 900 specially trained dancers in this movie had a budget of 4 crores approximately.

It is reported in the media that the makers of this film have already recovered 40 crores from digital rights. Most of the shooting of this film was done in Srikakulam, Udupi and Visakhapatnam (also known as Vizag). Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi had previously worked together in an Indian Telugu-language Musical Romantic Drama film named “Love Story”, which was released in the year 2021. The filming of “Thandel”, along with the lead duo started in December 2023.

Initially, the film was planned for a grand release on the eve of Makar Sankranthi festival in January 2025 but due to some technical issues, the release of this film was rescheduled, and now the film is all set for a grand release in the theatres across India on February 7th, 2025. “Thandel” originally is a Telugu-language film and is also dubbed in Tamil and Hindi languages.
