Qazi Touqeer: Age, Wife, Bigg Boss 20 Status and Timeline

Singer Qazi Touqeer, a Srinagar native who won the television contest Fame Gurukul in 2005, entered Bigg Boss 20 when the season premiered on September 6, 2026, according to Indian Express.

As of October 15, 2026, no report says he has left. Filmibeat listed him among the 11 contestants nominated for eviction in week 6, and its October 14 poll had him among the vote leaders. Filmibeat said the result is announced on Weekend Ka Vaar.

What is Qazi Touqeer known for?

Qazi Touqeer is known for winning Fame Gurukul, a Sony TV singing contest, in 2005 without formal musical training, and for appearing in the 2015 song Afghan Jalebi. Indian Express and Times Now both carry that history.

Indian Express reported on September 17, 2026, that the finale aired on October 20, 2005, and that he won as one half of the show’s winning pair with Ruprekha Banerjee. Each winner received Rs 50 lakh, a Sony music contract and a Maruti Alto. The same report put his vote count at roughly 2.5 crore and said he landed in the danger zone ten times.

He was born in Kashmir to a lawyer father and a teacher mother, Times Now reported on September 9, 2026, and his uncle, Qazi Rafi, is a Kashmiri singer. The album Yeh Pal followed in 2006. In 2009, according to Times Now, he injured his neck while shooting an acting debut called Take Off.

He resurfaced in 2015 through Afghan Jalebi, from the film Phantom. Indian Express reported on September 15, 2026, that he was offered the appearance two days before the shoot, and that by his own account his scenes took about 15 minutes and he was not credited.

His brother Touseef told Film Window that some of Qazi’s film projects were shelved and that two to three years were lost. Before Bigg Boss 20, Touseef said, Qazi was living in Kashmir and performing live shows.

How old is Qazi Touqeer?

Qazi Touqeer is about 40 years old as of October 15, 2026. Filmibeat reported on September 25, 2026, that his date of birth is June 4, 1986, while some reports give June 2, 1985.

India Today’s September 17 headline also put his age at 40. The 2005 coverage shows the same split. Indian Express called him 20 at the finale, and his brother told Film Window he was 19. Those ages match the two birth years, and no outlet has settled which is correct.

Filmibeat said the family details it listed, including his parents’ names, are not officially confirmed, so they are left out here. India Today reported on October 12, 2026, that his uncle described a convent school in Rajbagh and then Amar Singh College. Filmibeat named a different school, Minto Circle School in Raj Bagh, without a named source.

Is Qazi Touqeer married?

Yes, by his own account. Qazi Touqeer said on Bigg Boss 20 that his wife is named Ifsa, that she is nine years younger and that she works as a dentist, according to Moneycontrol on September 18, 2026, and Times Now on September 29.

His brother backs the account. Qazi Touseef, an entrepreneur, called Ifsa “the rockstar of our home” in an interview Times Now reported on September 29. He told Film Window she is a pillar of strength for Qazi, India Today reported on October 12.

The picture was less settled earlier. The Sunday Guardian reported on September 12, 2026, that Qazi had told Arishfa Khan to meet his wife and children, and that no official confirmation existed. It also mentioned older unverified claims that his wife is a doctor. Later reports say dentist.

Times Now added that an old pre-show video had him saying the wedding took place during the COVID-19 pandemic and was simple and intimate. It said no picture or video of Ifsa was available online. Qazi dedicated the Rs 5 lakh prize he won on October 11 to his wife, Indian Express reported.

He has also mentioned children in conversations on the show. No outlet has reported details, and none are given here.

Qazi in Bigg Boss 20: entry to week six

Hindustan Times listed him among 16 celebrity contestants on September 6, 2026. India Today reported on October 12 that Salman Khan called him the house’s “rockstar” at the first Weekend Ka Vaar. Hindustan Times reported on September 8 that he scared housemates with a late-night act, then told the camera it was a performance.

One early dispute involved Kanika Mann. A ‘lollipop’ joke that Qazi repeated made her uncomfortable. The Economic Times reported on October 3 that Salman told him on Weekend Ka Vaar he should have backed out, and asked whether he had apologized. Qazi said he had, in jest.

Illness followed. Social media pages claimed on Monday, October 5, that he was evicted after a dengue diagnosis. His team said on October 6 that he had fever, was examined in the medical room and remained in the house, Indian Express reported on October 7. Salman said on the October 11 episode that Qazi had dengue.

On that same episode, Salman reprimanded Yung DSA and ScoutOP and called them bullies, Indian Express reported. Republic World, citing ANI, said he asked ScoutOP why he stopped Love Gill from taking food to the unwell Qazi. Qazi cried. “Kanika told me I would be given 10 eggs for protein; others objected, and I was very hurt,” he said, as Indian Express quoted him.

Indian Express also reported on October 11 that Salman announced Qazi had won the Flipkart Fashion Icon title of the season, worth Rs 5 lakh.

Why is Qazi Touqeer in the news this week?

Qazi Touqeer is in the news this week because a row over remarks linked to him ended in a physical fight between Nakul Dhull and Gullu, because he is nominated for eviction, and because two clips drew criticism online.

India Today reported on October 13, 2026, that the argument began when Nakul Dhull told ScoutOP about remarks Qazi had allegedly made regarding an incident in which he spat in Scout’s ear. Qazi said the comments were made in jest and asked Gullu, whose real name is Kushal Tanwar, to explain the matter to Nakul. Nakul objected, and the exchange turned into a shoving match.

Nakul was evicted after Bigg Boss said a major house rule had been broken, India TV reported on October 14. The outlet added that Scout had not made an issue of the spitting at the time. Free Press Journal reported the same day that Gauahar Khan called the alleged spitting wrong and hoped Salman would raise it on Weekend Ka Vaar.

On the live feed, Qazi narrated an imagined contest between Sachin Tendulkar and Shoaib Akhtar and repeatedly called Tendulkar the “Little Master,” ABP Live reported on October 14. Some users read it as mocking. Others defended it.

Is Qazi Touqeer nominated this week?

Yes. Filmibeat reported on October 12, 2026, that Qazi Touqeer is among 11 contestants nominated for eviction in week 6, and its October 14 report still listed him. No result had been announced as of October 15, 2026.

Filmibeat said Yung DSA, Arishfa Khan and ScoutOP nominated him. It took the list from a tweet ahead of the broadcast. Its own poll, which it calls unofficial, had Qazi, Gullu and Yung DSA leading the vote count.

IWMBuzz previewed an upcoming episode on October 13 in which Qazi tells Mahhi Vij that Aman Gandhi and Uditi Singh follow Arishfa around like “gulaams” and calls her the “Pradhanmantri” of the house. The report describes scenes that had not aired at the time, so the wording is a preview, not a confirmed quote.

Arijit Singh and the music plans

Arijit Singh wrote on September 9, 2026, that he would watch Bigg Boss for the first time because of Qazi, Times Now reported. The two have been friends since Fame Gurukul, where Arijit did not win.

Touseef told Film Window that the pair will do a project together. Some work has been done, he said, but the actual work is yet to happen, and it will be “something very big and beautiful.” India Today carried the quote on October 12, and Moneycontrol repeated the confirmation on October 13.

Moneycontrol also reported that composer Sajid Khan said in a video he has five songs ready and would record with Qazi after the show. None of these reports gives a title or a release date.

What Bigg Boss viewers on Reddit are saying

Threads about Qazi on r/biggboss in October 2026 mix admiration with irritation, and the Sachin Tendulkar report set off a pushback. These are viewers’ opinions, not reporting.

One of the most upvoted threads was a fan post:

“When will people realise that we’re witnessing a once-in-a-lifetime Bigg Boss contestant?”
– r/biggboss, October 2026 (947 upvotes)

A post reacting to the ABP Live report took the opposite side of the media coverage:

“How is this mocking Sachin? Why is this even news? I understand disliking a BB contestant but going to this extent to defame and instigate people against is sheer hate campaign.”
– r/biggboss, October 2026 (190 upvotes)

A reply in the same thread sat between the two camps:

“it does seem a little quick and forced, many of up disliked his harkatein in last episode but ye sab kya hai..too much”
– r/biggboss, October 2026 (18 upvotes)

Not every thread is friendly. Another r/biggboss thread that month laid out why its author does not see him as a winner.
